This is an entry extolling the virtues of three little-used words in English: whence, hence, and thence. In my opinion, fewer words are always better. For example, "Please complete this form," rather than "Please fill out this form." So on that note let's examine (not "look at") these three words.

Whence --- from where, e.g. "Whence did that come?"

Hence --- from here, e.g. ... Hmm, can't really think of an example.

Thence --- from there, e.g. "Our first stop is Brooklyn, and thence we will go to Boston."

Look for opportunities to employ these items, and you'll ... save breath.
